JUST REDUED TO $169,500. Barbary Cove has recently completed the manufacture of a 32' PWS Bowpicker. This Steve Pollard and Jim Bower custom designed vessel features all of the latest advancements in commercial fishing boat design, with added extras that will easily elevate your commercial fishing in Alaska. Particular attention during the design process was given to structural strength, easy fish ability, economical performance, great handling characteristics, and adequate deadrise at the cutwater to cut through rough water without pounding.

The interior of this Barbary Cove bow picker features an all-aluminum galley and head compartment for durability and ease of maintenance. Upon entering the cabin and to starboard is a built in table that faces forward, with an upholstered bench seat, for eating, reading, or just relaxing while fishing. To port is a fully equipped helm station with a comfortable suspension seat. Just aft of the helm seat is an open space where a diesel heater can be placed to supplement the bus heater. The vessel features excellent forward sightlines, with the addition of two windows on either side of the cabin entrance companionway. A large galley to starboard with a stainless steel sink and cabinets underneath is a great place to fix lunch. Use the 20-gallon water tank to cook or wash up. Two extra large berths (an upper and lower) are located along the rear bulkhead, with comfortable dual density cushions covered in durable and easy to clean sun resistant blue Sunbrella fabric. A head compartment is sequestered in the aft port corner to minimize view obstruction from the helm. The head features a marine toilet and a 20 gallon holding tank with a black water pump out. Energy efficient LED interior lighting provides excellent lighting, however, the enhanced forward and side windows renders the interior lighting almost redundant. The cabin features extensive insulation to make for a warmer and quieter vessel.

 Engine and Mechanical:
Twin GMC Vortex Marine Power gas engines, each with 385 HP, provide the propulsion power. With only approximately 100 hours on the engines, you may expect a long and reliable power life. She boasts a top speed of 40 knots, with a fuel capacity of 226 gallons. The single fuel tank is located on the centerline very near the center of flotation, to minimize trim change as fuel is either added or burned. The starboard main engine drives the hydraulic systems and, in addition, there is a Yanmar L100V 10 HP Diesel putt-putt to drive the hydraulic system. The Yanmar is an economical added bonus, saving hours and fuel on the main engine using the Yanmar. Two Hamilton Jet Drives allow for shallow depth fishing.

 Electrical and Electronics:
At the main helm an impressive electronic packages has been installed. A Garmin GPS 4212 Plotter with color LCD screen, Garmin GSD-22 Sounder with Garmin Depth Transducer, Garmin GMR 18 Radar with 4 kWh 18 inch 36 nm Dome and an Icom M-412 Radio with a Shakespeare 8 foot VHF marine band antenna complete the navigational systems. Additional electronics include a Blue Seas DC Eight position circuit breaker panel, two Rule 2000 GPH Bilge pumps, One Rule 1500 GPH fish hold pump, two 4D house batteries and two Group 27 starting batteries and LED lighting in the interior, engine room, forward bilge and navigational lights. As a safety measure, a Xintex M-1 gasoline fume detector has also been installed.

 Notes and Extras:
Deck Equipment includes a Petrzelka Brothers aluminum square tube reel frame, Petrzelka Brothers power roller, 26 inches wide and eight and 3/4ths diameter bow roller, Petrzelka Brothers deluxe aluminum reel, 50 inches wide by 44 inches wide reel, a level wind with twister drive, and an anchor winch on the starboard side of the reel. A brilliant design concept, the deck is built with a 5 degree rise going forward to allow the fish to slide directly into the flush deck fish holds. This vessel has six below deck fish holds, which are insulated, amidships and flush to the deck with removable hatch covers. Each fish hold is approximately 44 cubic feet. Use the Pacer 2 inch hydraulic wash down pump at days end to keep the deck clean. The second helm is located forward to port, on the deck, knowledgeably placed to monitor nets and docking maneuvers. Weighing approximately 13,800 pounds (with fuel, water, and gear), she trailers easily on a triple axel trailer. Custom designed and created, she is very well built and easy to maintain with demanding Alaskan conditions in mind. Fisherman safety was emphasized with a boarding ladder on the transom and generous handholds on the aft bulkhead of the cabin and side handholds on the cabin top. If (when) you fall overboard, this will save your life! If serious volume fishing interests you, in a competent, robust and economical boat, this is the vessel to own.
