GENEROUS INTERIOR AND DECK, BEAUTIFUL INSIDE AND OUT! The Eagle 40 Pilothouse trawler is a great Alaska/West Coast cruising vessel. Bonnie Lee has been pampered and is in above average condition. Beautifully white and very clean, she is the perfect cruising companion for someone who loves classic looks and great salty lines. Her generously wide beam is the primary reason for her impressive interior dimensions with distinctively appointed living spaces. She makes a great live aboard for a couple or for long-range cruising.

 Interior:
Bonnie Lee has an outstanding layout for a boat of this size. Enter her main salon from the aft door or utilize the port or starboard side doors to the pilothouse. Beautiful teak flooring and trim welcome you into the comfortable interior. Five good-sized view windows illuminate the salon and slide open for cross-ventilation in warm weather. At night, all the windows have nice coverings to help shut out the midnight sun and add some privacy. On the port side, a rounded restaurant-style corner dinette seats four extremely comfortably and converts to a two-person berth at night. Beyond the dinette is the fully-functioning galley with a three-burner propane stove/oven combo, a microwave set into the wall, a double stainless steel sink, a nice amount of storage, and other nice touches like a wine glass rack and paper towel holder. Located across the galley is built-in cabinetry and a nice-sized refrigerator with popular separate bottom-entry freezer compartment. A half cabinet here is perfect place for setting up a TV and Blue-Ray player within great view of the dinette or the neighboring starboard-side settee. The settee provides a good amount of extra seating or can also be used as a sleeping area for a youngster. A magazine rack and reading light perched above also makes this a great nook for curling up with some reading material. A short stairway leads up to the pilothouse. A port-side a raised observation lounge with a refreshment table offers passengers a commanding view through the helm s three windshield panes, each fitted with a pantograph wiper. This settee can also be used as a sleeping area for a youngster. To starboard, the lower helm station features a raised pilot seat facing a beautiful and expansive teak dash with room for all the electronics your heart desires. A large chart table adjacent to the console hinges upward for access to a chart and document storage compartment. Two windows in the pilothouse aft bulkhead offer limited sightlines astern. The nautical teak cabinetry and trim extends down a few steps from the pilothouse into the bow is the vessel s helm and v-berth stateroom. A roomy queen bed is the pinnacle of the stateroom. There is plenty of shelving for books, tissues and other odds and ends, as well as two hanging lockers and plenty of drawers. Two port holes with covers and a lovely homey lamp in the bow give you plenty of added lighting options. The head is plenty roomy with a comfortable toilet and sink with a large counter, more than usual storage space, and a separate shower stall. The vessel water needs are fulfilled by 230 gallons and a 30 gallon holding tank. Heating is provided by the 2015 Espar forced air diesel furnace on those chilly nights.

 On Deck:
Two side boarding gates aligned to either the port or starboard pilothouse doors enable passengers to easily step from the dock to the deck or vice versa. Owners of this vessel say this feature makes this boat one of the few trawlers of this size that enable the captain to take the boat out and return to the dock my him or herself. There is also a transom door from the stern swim platform for boarding. The cockpit area has enough room for accommodate your favorite pastime, including putting out some chairs for socializing at dockside or underway. Another benefit of Bonnie Lee s wide beam is her side decks, which are wide enough for strolling around the vessel and enjoying the scenery. Sturdy hip-high railing and nearly knee-high gunnels will help you feel securely on board. The upper helm and top deck extends sternward over the salon. Store some extra gear or toys up here kayaks, crab pots or a dinghy or use this area for sunbathing.

 Engine and Mechanical:
The power on this 40-footer is provided by a 2000 Perkins-Sabre TI 225 horsepower diesel engine with 2,900 hours on it. She cruises at 8 knots (1,800 rpm) and has a top speed of 12 knots. Fuel usage is an economical 3.5 gallons per hour and she carries 220 gallons of fuel in her aluminum fuel tank. You could travel a good long distance before needing a refuel. The engine room has two easy-access points, one via a hinged pilothouse stairway, and the other through the pilothouse floor. The Wesmar bow thruster makes easy work of docking and pushing off. When you want to anchor in your favorite cove for the night, lower the Bruce anchor with the Lofrans Falkon electric winch tethered to 400 feet of all chain rode.
