of one of her many large windows. At night, Levolor blinds can be pulled down from the wood
valances to provide privacy when desired. She has plenty of recessed and other lighting to

buffet offer usability and storage options, and the beautiful propane fireplace creates an
intimate atmosphere. A starboard side door takes you to the side deck. Forward on starboard, a dinette with an L-shaped bench has room for additional seating. The dinette lies across from the vessel s substantial galley, one which rivals many homes. A four-burner Tappan gas range is topped with a microwave and surrounded by expansive Corian countertops. The galley also has a Whirlpool side-by-side refrigerator, trash compactor and an extra large two-basin sink. There is a great amount of storage and a unique place for everything from spices to wine glasses, dishes to pantry items. From this point, a set of stairs takes you upstairs to the bridge and downstairs to the berthing quarters. A scuttle opening on the foredeck takes you to a stairwell which leads to the crew quarters, which has its own head. Upstairs in the bridge, the centerline helm has a 360-degree view and a movable cushioned captain s stool with arm and foot rests. Wing doors on either side of the pilothouse lead to the side decks.
This space also has an oversized charting table, a long settee for company, as well as a large
double berth aft of the settee. Downstairs from the galley is a utility room on port. Here, you
will find a standard-sized Maytag washer and dryer, as well as a utility sink. The access door
to the engine room is also in this space. Forward of the utility room is a head with a shower
stall, sink, marine toilet and storage. Across the companionway is the aft stateroom. This
excellent sleeping space has two berths with storage drawers below, a shared night table with
more storage, a storage locker, hand sink, reading lamps and more. Forward on port is the
mid-stateroom. Here, you have a crisscross bunk bed with two single berths and oodles of
drawers and other storage options. The main stateroom is located in the bow and has two
single berths and a great amount on standing room. This stateroom has a huge hanging closet and drawers upon drawers upon drawers. A private head serves this room and it has a shower stall, marine toilet, and sink with a grand amount of counter-space and storage, as well as a venting window. Her two Monel water tanks carry a total of 2,500 gallons of fresh water, she has an 18-gallon water heater, and she also has a water maker system. The walls and floors of the berthing area on Kirawan are carpeted, creating a snug and quiet space where everyone can sleep soundly.

An 11-foot Bulldog dinghy is stored up here, lifted by the dinghy davit. What a wonderful deck to set up a few lounge chairs on sunny days! The lower deck is covered and romantic covered side decks extend the lower deck forward to the pilothouse.

ON DECK
A Peter Brady design out of Australia, this cruiser was built for her current owner by well-known John Shaw in Westport, WA. These boats have a good reputation as strong seaworthy boats with offset engines and all the sail controls brought back to the helm, now a common feature among newer sailboats. This beamy cat was built using strip-planking, which involves attaching strips of red cedar onto formers and then covering the entire boat shell with fiberglass matting and epoxy resin overlay. She has a fantastic wide walk-around design with removable canvass panels in her covered cockpit which opens her outside helm and crew seating. Coming aboard is easy from any docking position by stepping on her port or starboard stern steps. This package comes with two Lewmar 48ST secondary winches, one Lewmar 40St Halyard and two-each Lewmar 30 ST Harken Genoa sheet system with tri roller leads, and three sails fully battened 150% jib and stay sail.
ENGINE & MECHANICAL
Catamarans are appreciated for their efficiency in navigation and lower fuel consumption and Pioneer falls right in line. She is nicely powered by her twin Yanmar 35 horsepower diesel engines. With approximately 3,200 hours on each, she has years of life ahead of her. This graceful gal cruises at eight knots at 2,100 rpm and has a top speed of 12 knots under power. The owner says he has actually seen up to 18 knots under power and sail. Her Two fuel tanks carry a total of 94 gallons of fuel and she uses less than a gallon of fuel per engine at cruise. She is so very fuel efficient; you almost never hear that about a 41-footer!
ELECTRICAL & ELECTRONICS
The robust navigation electronics package includes a Garmin 3010C integrated system with radar, depth sounder, a Garmin 120 XL plotter, and an AutoHelm 7000 auto pilot. There is a hand control mike at the cockpit helm. For communications, you have a Standard VHF, and for entertainment, there is a nice Jensen stereo system. She plugs into 30-amp shore power at the dock and has a dual 20-amp battery charger. She has a 120 amp Cyrix-ct (with spare), and Yandina battery combiners. Eng;ine battery charging is with a Balmar 150 amp alternator with three stage automatic regulator on the port engine and a standard Yanmar 90 amp alternator on the starboard. House batteries are 6 Trojan 6-volt 250-amp batteries with a Trace U2412/2500 Watt inverter providing AC power throughout the vessel. The helm is full of features you ll appreciate. Take a personal tour to see all the bells and whistles this beauty has.
NOTES & EXTRAS
Owner states that he has a new Garmin GDL 30A Weather/Audio Satelite Receiver not installed, and a complete spare Simrad J300X au;topilot unit that goes with the boat.
